Kawagoe commonly known as Koedo which literally means small Edo is a town of old storehouse-like houses with black plaster walls and tiled roofs. As one of the most important historic building preservation districts in Japan Kawagoe showcases the architecture of the Edo period. The city attracts many tourists every year as a famous tourist spot where visitors can relive the Edo period and by using the Seibu Kawagoe Pass you can explore Kawagoes majestic old town.

This Seibu Kawagoe Pass has a lucky charm design and the idea is that it prays for a safe trip for foreign tourists visiting Japan. It is used for a same day round trip between Hon-Kawagoe Station and Tokyo Urban stations either Seibu-Shinjuku Takadanobaba or Ikebukuro Station. You get to choose which will be your arrival and departure station. No stopovers are allowed

How to collect your pass

Please pick up your pass at the SEIBU Tourist Information Centre open 8am - 3pm everyday.

The Information Centre can be found right by the East Exit of Ikebukuro Station. 

It is located near the 1F entrance gates to the Seibu Line. The East Exist is on the same side of the station which has the Seibu department store.

Important information - There may be restrictions

Users of this pass cannot be Japanese citizens. You will be required to show your passport or resident card when you collect your ticket.

The voucher expires 60 days from the date of purchase if not redeemed at the SEIBU Tourist Information Centre.

Once exchanged at the SEIBU Tourist Information Centre the ticket must be used within the same day. The validity period will be stamped on the ticket at the time of exchange.

There is an additional charge to travel on a limited express train or a train with reserved seats.
